Someone has successfully compiled X.org 6.8.2??

Thats my question... i recently compiled it... with NO good results at all... i know the packages are in slack.com but, i need to compile x.org because i own a 3dfx card.

I didnt install the packages in the slack installation... was that the problem? the source is only for upgrading your existing X?

Help please, dont know what to do, the compilation process was a failure... i didnt get any of the necesary binaries... like startx, xorgconfig... none of that.

What ARE the results?

And which card are you using?

# ************** GLIDE SUPPORT **********************

# If you want to build against Glide, run with $1 = YES
# See more info below.
# [more info]: It seems that as of XFree86 4.3.0 it is no longer
# necessary to build X with libglide3 in order to support 3dfx DRI.
# The tdfx_dri.so driver will be built either way, and appears to
# be the same. Instead of being linked with libglide, it does
# runtime library discovery which also allows it to find versions
# of glide for all the various 3dfx cards instead of just the most
# common ones that we were including in previous builds.

Cheers,
Tink
