slackware64-current w/ xorg-server-1.14 & AMD catalyst

Basically the combination of xorg-server 1.14 and the AMD catalyst driver 13.1 don't seem to work. I can startx into an XFCE basic session and even get a few programs to run. But starting Thunderbird seems to cause a crash every time.

Is there any chance we could get a repost of the xorg-server 1.13 package somewhere? Reverting to an earlier xorg version seems to be the workaround others are using at the moment.

At this moment, the following mirror still has the previous batch of x-packages:

ftp://ifconfig.com.ua/pub/Mirror/sla...slackware64/x/

Get them before they are sync'd with current.

I've mirrored them here, just in case also that gets updated

http://ponce.cc/slackware/various/temp-rollback/

but the problem that when we use proprietary drivers (I'm speaking also for the nvidia ones) we rely on the efforts of just a few devs that can't keep up with upstream will be there also in the future.

Thanks! That got me sorted out.

I agree with the sentiment about proprietary drivers. It's for that reason my next laptop is very likely to have intel graphics.

Thanks for the rollback packages. Now I can log in to KDE again.
