Cool Slackware Linux Tattoo

Hey, fellow slackers

I got a Slackware Linux tattoo on my left arm! I originally wanted a plain Tux logo but decided to add the pipe to have some Slackware representation.

This is my first tattoo.

Anyone else have Linux or open source related tattoos?

That looks like a good ink job. Props to the tattoo artist.

I would have added a little phosphorescent red, to light up "inside" the pipe under a black light. But that's just me.

That sounds like a good idea! It's my first one so I wasn't even aware that was possible. The artist did ask a lot of questions to make sure it came out how I wanted it, though.

As far as I know you are free to use or modify the image but should acknowledge the creator Larry Ewing and The GIMP if someone asks.

That's _a_ sign of a good artist. After all, tattoos are mostly permanent, though you can get them removed with some expense and additional discomfort. If you do find a good artist, it may be worth considering sticking with them for any future work. If you're happy, it shows that you've already been able to communicate with the artist and get the results you wanted.

I don't know too many people with just one tattoo. It seems most of the tat'ed up folks that I know didn't stop at one. (I only have a couple.) So, you may well be off on a grand artistic journey of body modifications!

In my case, I have a rule. Any tattoos I get must be covered in 'business casual' attire. I am retired, but I still want to be able to look professional. If this COVID stuff dies down, I may get my back done over the coming winter.

Have you already started planning your next one? Do you think you'll stop at just one?

Not considered a Window's Vista one...

Hear, hear. And it's also nice that the artist didn't scoff at what you wanted, no matter how nerdy or simple-minded (mine was the latter).

That's me. In fact, I made a promise to my artist that it would be the only one I got. It isn't something that I'll want to embellish in the future.

Mine is just off my left shoulder, so it gets covered by a T-shirt. I always prefer to have my shoulders covered when out in public. But I can reveal the tattoo at will, as both motto and message.

I'll stay suspicious until you show the other arm too, maybe you're dual booting...

Very cool, especially for a first tattoo.

Now that's a few days later, has the tattoo begun to itch or ooze or anything like that?
