Thanks everyone. I was aware of the differences between SlackWiki and the Slackware Documentation project. Both hibernation pages (on SlackWiki and the documentation) are equally out of date. As I am supposed to be able to update SlackWiki, I thought I would start with that first. Sorry if I complained in the wrong thread.
At any rate, I am pretty sure, I can't edit SlackWiki without an account. As their user manual says, Click the "Edit" page tab at the top of the page. is definitely not visible at the top of my page. And I can't sign up either.

On the login page, click on "help with login". That takes you to the generic MediaWiki support page at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Logging_in and specifically this is relevant:
Quote:
Click on the "Log in" link at the top right of the page. You will then be prompted to enter your username and password.
If you haven't logged in before, you will need to use the link provided to create an account. You may give your email address if you like.
|
Edit: forget about that advice - it will create an account on the actual https://www.mediawiki.org/ instead of slackwiki.com.

Reason: Unhelpful advice, sorry

SlackWiki is NOT... I repeat NOT part of the Slackware Documentation Project (docs.slackware.com).
I'm not at all sure who/what slackwiki.com is. Alien Bob's (Eric Hameleers) original Slackware Wiki was slackwiki.org. I notice he no longer links to it on his blog, so it may be down/inactive. I don't know for sure. You'll need to contact Alien Bob for issues/questions regarding this.

Not necessary, @MightyBaba.

@marav... Erik Hanson? Hmm...
AH! I knew that name was familiar. Co-founder, along with Robby Workman of SlackBuilds.org.

I thought it was AlienBob because .org no longer exists

I dunno... Robby or Alien Bob will have to jump in here and explain, maybe.

Oh, and slackwiki.org is still live/active. It's just an empty white HTML page.

Looking at https://www.slackwiki.com/Special:Log/Erik it appears that you have to ask Erik Hanson to create an account on slackwiki.com . There's an email address in his Wiki user page.

Yeah, but not an empty white page here. I assume you use some kind of content blocker in your browser.
The domain is hi-jacked by a domain harvester and offered for sale. I clicked on the link, you can offer them an amount of USD and then hope you'll get it.

Ah... you're absolutely correct, @Windu. I have my Firefox locked down very securely. That's probably why I couldn't see it.
