Slackware and Network site response times

Hi,

I'm experiencing some propagation with access to LQ. Typically 7 to 10 seconds. Sometimes longer. The problem is just with LQ and started on Monday 1-19-09.

I've done some diagnostic work and the problem is LQ or the connections routes. I've tested several other sites but found the access to be normal, typically around 1.2 to 2 seconds max.

I'm wondering if anyone else has the same problem? I've traced and noticed that the time to my PO is normal or typical as to other site access. My response has always been great but now it has fallen to noticeable lags.

I just did a preview of this post an the time was at 3.160s. Better but still not acceptable. My times for LQ were around 1-2s, usually a little above 1s. Some previews in the past took a noticeable difference.

EDIT: the submission for this post took over six seconds. Save for the edit took 46.305s. Now viewing this post took 4.359s.

It's probably a performance issue with the LQ servers. I had the same long wait when posting just a minute ago (far more than 6 seconds!).

Over the past few years that I have been attending LQ I notice on occasion that the server seems to not respond. I once triple posted because of the appearance of no response. Short answer is the site does belch once in a while.

Once in a blue moon I notice delays at web sites because of stale entries in my hosts file. See here for an example.
