Slackware 9.1 ADSL problem with Fujitsu FDX310

Hi,

i have recently decided to try out Slackware after using SUSE for a couple of months.
Anyway, I 'appear' to connect to the Internet OK, but then I am unable to browse. Though strangely is seems to work for one or two seconds but then nothing ..dead.
I use eciadsl and to start the internet i type startmodem. It appears to synch ok, but i get some error messages as well:

/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/usb/host/usb-uhci.o.gz: init_module: No such device
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/usb/host/usb-uhci.o.gz: Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/usb/host/usb-uhci.o.gz: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/usb/host/usb-uhci.o.gz failed
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/usb/host/usb-uhci.o.gz: insmod usb-uhci failed
couldn't load usb-uhci module

ive noticed I can ping address (like google, or my isp)

any help would be appreciated ... im pulling my hair out!

thanks

ok, i worked it out. It's just a case of disabling the hotplugging (for anyone who has a similiar problem)

Try editing /etc/hotplug/blacklist.

If you want to disable hotplug completely, remove the execute rights from /etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug. The command 'chmod -x /etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug' will take care of that . If you want to disable certain modules from loading by hotplug, editing the blacklist adding the modules you do not want to load by hotplug will be the solution.
