Okay so I decided to install slackware 14. The install went fine and everything. I'm just stuck on the wireless part. I have no idea how to connect the wlan0 to wpa2. Ive read I don't know how many things across the internet read I don't know how many wikis. They was all just mumbo jumbo garbage that didn't tell me crap.
I'm quite frustrated at this point after 12 straight hours of complete failure.
Anyhelp anyone could give me would be absolutely nice.

And the type of computer is a HP 2000 Notebook.
I'm pretty sure my device is working. Because It's worked well on plenty of other distros. I've installed around 5 or so on this computer just experiementing around and the wireless all seemed to work correctly.
I'm not sure if it just doesn't wanna connect for some reason or I'm not doing it right.
And I'd like to make a permanent connect at boot.
Install wicd, run wicd-curses as root in terminal, select your wireless network in the list, right arrow and enter your wpa2 Preshared key, F10 and q to quit. Then run wicd-curses as your normal user, select your network and enter to get an IP address.
Is supported by the ath9k module which is included in the kernel. I would second the suggestion for using networkmanager, rkelsen's post should get it up and running with that, but it's really up to you of course.
