Check your clock.

Code:
$ date
Eventually set the correct time like this.

Code:
# ntpdate pool.ntp.org
Cheers,

Niki

Did you do a full installation? Or did you by any means miss the ca-certificates package?

There isn't - we just quite often get people in this forum ripping out random packages from their installations and being confused about why they don't work, so it's our go-to first suggestion most of the time

What happens if you try accessing HTTPS websites with other tools? e.g.:

Code:
curl https://www.linuxquestions.org
wget -O- https://www.linuxquestions.org

If I just got annoyed and re-installed slackware, would this thread get marked as solved ? Sorry, it's been sometime since i was here, and I want to be a good/helpful community member.

So this is not solved ?

Assuming the above, a silly question.

After the full install of 14.2, did you apply the patches ? IIRC there were some cert updates.

Wink

No, I never solved the problem, I'm not sure what it was too be honest, Something to do with certificates, I think maybe I botched the install somehow.

But have installed again since then, and that problem has never come back, I have also stopped using KDE.

(i actually asked if the right thing to do was mark it solved or delete it, but i didn't really get an answer, and i couldn't figure out how to mark it for admin deletion or what not)

I have another problem now though, in a new post if you are feeling generous
