after reading below if that does not help reinstall kde there is a few things not loaded in your kde. soprano is a must and it is not loaded.
Quote:
(Soprano::PluginManager) found no soprano plugin at "/usr/lib/soprano/libsoprano_redlandbackend.so"

slackpkg install soprano
when ever using slackware current upgrade-all and install-new
when you upgraded your system to slackware-current it never installed the kernel-huge-2.6.32.3
you are using the generic kernel and the modules are not being loaded .
I went through this yesterday on both 32 and 64 bit systems. the huge-smp was not installed on 32 bit. And the huge.s kernel was not installed for my 64 bit I had to do a manual install.
this was a bug in the upgrade. two nights ago. seems the packages where there but the package index was not correct.
your modules are not loaded.
64 bit kernel
when you say always do upgrade all and install new in which order do you suggest to do so? should i ignore tgz files while upgrading and focus only on txz?
when upgrading on install-new what i dont understand if the version of the package is lastest and installed why then when i put install-new it *.txz it goes again from lastest to previous version and then upgrade again to lastest sequentually why it does not just skip it from the first place when it detects latest version of the package?
when you said about hugesmp2.6.32.3 it wasnt installed thats true, i removed it manually aswell as modules i didnt want in slackware-current directory from where i upgrade packages.
what im trying to understand here is when you say kernel modules are not loaded, how come theres rc.modules-2.6.32.3 are there and i had to create initrd in order machine to boot, can you give me more insight on what you mean by that? also should i install better generic-smp instead of just generic? because its not smp processor that im using.
wondering where is the bug
in /var/log/packages it shows that soprano is installed, do you mean that package index it only shows that its there installed but infact its not?
because /usr/lib/soprano/libsoprano_redlandbackend.so the file is there.
what regarding akonadiserver not usable database driver found, what should i do about that?

That's addressed in the email from Pat that you get the first time you log in as root.
having slackware 13 after executing startx it gives me white screen
This was a common problem when people upgraded KDE 4.2 as supplied with Slackware 13 to KDE 4.3. The usual cause was not upgrading the qt package at the same time.
It sounds as though you are selectively installing upgrades. You would be better served by staying in step with Slackware-current.

The suggested order (as detailed in 'man slackpkg') is 'install-new' followed by 'upgrade-all'.

You are better off using the generic-smp kernel if your hardware will run it (even if you only have a single processor.
Please read /boot/README.initrd for for information on initrd. The short answer is that the generic kernel does not include any code for handling file systems. The modules need to be added at boot (via initrd) or else compiled into the kernel.
I installed in my pc the stable version of slackware except the graphical enviroment....And after that from the current i installed the kde 4.3.4 graphical enviroment via the slackpkg tool. The problem is that after the startx command i saw a white page and the only think that works is alt + F2...Can you tell me how can i fix it and what information do you want?If i build kde 4.3.4 from the source via the kde official tutorial will it become ok?
I had the same problem, as others have said its because you have not upgraded all packages needed for the newer KDE. You can either update everything to current or reinstall KDE from the install disk either will work and i would recommend just upgrading to current as it seems more stable and faster on my pc than 13.0 did.
savatu thank you for your help...But i don't want to upgrade my full system to current because it may have some security issues...(That's the reason for which it is named current...).Do you know what other packages have i to upgrade so kde 4.3.4 will work fine?
P.S.ok i fix the problem. Now it works fine.I have to install all the programs from the search which displays the command slackpkg kde,oxygen-icons and also to upgrade the aconadi,qt,qca.
