Unfortunately the driver for your card does not come with Slack and you have to get it from Intels web site. If you cannot find the driver I can e-mail you it.

Thanks...but now that it's working...I don't think I'll be screwing with it anymore hahaah...I'm not THAT big a glutton for punishment. But thank you for the offer, I appreciate that!

Hey ryanbelv

I just recently installed slackware 10.2 on a newer Intel motherboard and ran into the same problem. Since you had to boot with the sata.i kernel you need to recompile and add support for your onboard ethernet card.I ran into thee exact same situation, I finally installed slackware on a sata system and had to recompile and add support for some stuff that the kernel didn't have by default like Onboard Intel ethernet adapters.
