screen resolution problem

hi i installed slackware linux and I cant get to figure out how you adjust the screen resolution I want it at 1024x768 but its like at 800x600 or something and I cannot figure out how to change it. any advice would help thx

You ahve to edit your /etc/xorg/xorg.conf file.
i am in a windows pc right now so cannot state in detail. Just find the resolution lines in xorg.conf and edit it. it will be like the following

"800x600" "1024x768" and some more

Just bring "1024x768" in the beginning of the line.

1280x1024 has to be at the front of the list in order to work it should look something like this:
