S504 help!!!

OK all here's the issue. As you all know Slackware 9 was released. The laptop I have is the Toshiba 5005-S504. This laptop is known for having issues with linux. SW 8.1 was not able to work due to issues with the ACPI (don't think I gave up, it took extensive research). Instead what I ran was RH 7.3 (big leap right). So SW 9 was supposed to fix these issues and it did. Right now what I'm having problems with is setting up Xfree86. For my laptop the nv drivers from XFree so your supposed to install the one from nvidia's website. I have that and the ACPI patch (just to be doubly sure that there will be no issues with the ACPI) on a cd rom I burnt on another machine. My problem is how can I pull these files off the cd-rom (some reason it's not shown in /mnt/cdrom) extract them, install them, then configure my XFree correctly.
