root permissions

Here is what I'm trying to do I have a script that will mount a directory from another computer. I had to use root permissions to make that happen but I do not run my machine as root. What I want to do is run a particular program like 'Nautilus' with root permissions. So I would like to run some kind of command from my menu that will call up Nautilus with user rights. Does this make any sense?

Let me know thatnks

Read up on suid.... having said that, running apps that way is very dangerous and not recommended.

Thanks for the suggestions I played around with the SUID bit for a while but didn't want to write a script to call the program with all of the little switches and other crap that it needed. So I changed the login permissions on my network share script and that fixed my problem.
