I do not believe that a boot floppy can do that, as it lacks the modules neccesary to read reiserfs.......you may have to use the CD....

i agree. go to the slack home page and burn a boot cd, or better yet, burn the full install set.
luck -O.

best for dial ups: www.edmunds-enterprises.com go to distros and click the slackware selection. 5 bucks and you're on your way in 4 days.
(delivery time to my house --- you may live further than 1200 miles from florida)

Do'nt bother to boot from Slackware installation CD. It do NOT recognize reiserfs.

I had to reiserfsck my / and Slackware 9.1 boot CD was no help!
I had to boot from Knoppix CD that had reiserfs suppport.

Paul what are you trying to do? If you boot the installation CD you can mount any linux parition that you have on your system. I do not know why you want to run pkgtool. Can you boot your slack install now?

Yup... You can. I boot to a reiserfs partition all the time via the cd.... You must be doing something wrong. There is even an xfs kernel image on the disk....

You should be able to mount reiserfs from a floppy as long as you compiled resierfs support into your kernel before you used makebootdisk.

-Hope this helps.
