Please pardon what is probably a simple question. I just switched over to Slack 9.0 for my main system but cannot figure out how to install additional packages (from my CD's). Is there a list of what is available? I even tried the Slack page but whatever I type in comes up blank. Thanks for the help.
Just su and run pkgtool, select other, and point it at your cdrom drive. For what you have you can use pkgtool or 'ls /var/log/packages'. For what all you can get, just view the directories on your disk, I guess.
The packages are listed in PACKAGES.TXT in the CD and the file location is in FILELIST.TXT.
In addition to what digiot said, you can install the packages by:
installpkg [packagename].tgz
