Install CD's

Quick Question, tried searching but kept getting and error msg.

Do I need all 3 of the ISO's to install Mandrake 10.1 Offical? Or are the 2nd and 3rd CD's just goodies?

I noticed the d/l numbers decrease with each ISO file, is that b/c people give up or all the CDs arent' necessary?

Depends on what packages you need. If you have a fast internet connection, you can do a network install where you can choose which packages you may need and hence download and install only those.

My connection is decent at the moment. I'm 1/2 done w/ the 3rd ISO. I think it will be good to have the disks handy.

I just wish i had a dvd burner.

You *can* install with just the 1st CD. You selection of packages will be less, but you can have a complete KDE (at least) desktop up and running.

Sometimes it is easier to just do the single-CD install, then set up urpmi and install the rest from the running system.
