Didier Spaier, where do I get more information? I can't find anything in syslog or messages about the problem.
Sorry, I'm quite new to Linux and Slackware.
Well, I think I've solved it temporary but not sure why it happened in the first place. I pgrep the pid and killed it and started pavuaudio and it worked.
One of the common causes of issues with pulseaudio is starting it as a system daemon (making /etc/rc.d/rc.pulseaudio executable). That is not recommended and it is suggested to leave it non-executable and simply let the system start it on-demand (ie automagically). I'm not sure if this applies to you, but figured I'd post it anyway.
Thanks bassmadrigal, It happened once again before I saw your post and did what you suggested and so far It's working fine.
Nice that you sorted it out!
Now, better you should mark this thread as [SOLVED] before it would be discovered by the ALSA purists who will try to explain you worth of 20 pages how ALSA is better than that Poettering software...
