Problem with X in current

Hi!

I have problem with some applications in X. When I want to unlock Xscreensaver it just meses my X and I must Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. I installed slock and thought I solved the problem that way, but same happened with Xpdf.

lspci:
Code:
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS690 [Radeon X1200 Series]
uname -r:
Code:
2.6.35.11-smp
xorg.conf:
Code:
Section "Module"
    Load "freetype"
    Load "glx"
    Load "dri"
EndSection
Section "DRI"
    Mode 0666
    Group "video"
EndSection
.
.
.
Section "Device"
    Identifier "ATI Radeon X1200"
    Driver "radeon"
    Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"
    Option "ColorTiling" "1"
    Option "DPI" "96 x 96"
EndSection
I'm using Openbox. No problem with KDE desktop effects, but during logging in, screen flickers a little.

What could be the problem?

sorry, have you tried using the "ati" driver, instead of the radeon/radeonhd one? Try also commenting out the AccelMethod and ColorTiling options.

Just tried and nothing changed. Interesting, but xpdf works in KDE, problem is in openbox, although screen flickers in KDE.

What is the difference between radeon and ati drivers?

I tried mesa 7.9 and 7.10. 7.10 seems to flicker less, but that's it.

ati is just a wrapper that will load the correct driver. In your case, the correct driver is 'radeon'. Show us your full /var/log/Xorg.0.log file. Can you grab a screenshot of what you are referring to?

Unfortunately, it sounds like this bug:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33929

It's been resolved in X server 1.10 or 1.9 built from git.

Thanks Adam! Comment no.10 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33929#c10 helped me.

'Option "ColorTiling" "false"' fixed it. Everything is OK now.
