slocate -e problem in -current (3.1)

Using the -e switch seems to have no effect in 3.1

I'm trying to exclude a mounted hdd with source code and a backup I keep of /etc, but the switch always gets ignored.

Command I'm using is:

slocate -ue /downloads/,/mnt/str1/downloads/,/home/etc/

Yes, I remember having this problem a while back.

Have you tried the
PRUNEPATHS=

option in /etc/updatedb.conf

I must say that I've never used the commandline incantation; I always
just modify /etc/updatedb.conf

Cheers,
Tink

P.S.: And that's what happens if you start writing an answer, and
then wander off to grab coffee or something ;}

Yes that works but I would rather the -e option worked too as in previous versions.
