problem receiving email

I'm having a problem using email on my slackware 10.0 installation. I cannot receive email. Whenever I send email to my account (or others), I get a returned email. The error seems to be this:

config error: mail loops back to me (MX problem?)
Local configuration error
I don't what it means. Any ideas on what I should do?

Are you running your own mail server (sendmail, postfix)? I've seen this error with sendmail, usually when you have configured your machine as a MX record for your domain but haven't actually told sendmail to receive messages marked for that doimain. Make sure your /etc/mail/local-host-names file has the name of your domain in it.
