PackageKit & Slackware?

Hiya guys,

I've been recreating elementary's Pantheon desktop for Slackware, and I was wondering If packagekit would work together with Slackware, If yes, I could integrate elementary's Appcenter as well.

My question is, are Slackware and PackageKit compatible?

What I tried so far, I started

/usr/libexec/packagekitd

Code:
Failed to resolve auto: No backends found
(packagekitd:1453): GLib-CRITICAL **: 19:22:02.824: Source ID 91 was not found when attempting to remove it
Obviously, there is no slackpkg backend for PackageKit.......

Hi Lancsuk

I've never used or even heard of PackageKit, but a quick search at slackbuilds.org found it, so it is supported by Slackware... just download and decompress the source, and save the slackbuild script in the same folder, and then run the slackbuild script. It will produce a slackware package for PackageKit in /tmp, which you can subsequently install with installpkg.

Cheers.

I already did, but I couldn't get it to work. The problem is, there is just a little information about.

In fact the version on slackbuilds.org / Ponce is outdated, the current version is actually 1.2.4.

The version 1.2.4 is more clear, and has some configure examples.

But sadly there is a conflict with sqlite.

Code:
Failed to load the backend: opening module slack failed : /usr/lib64/packagekit-backend/libpk_backend_slack.so: undefined symbol: BZ2_bzReadOpen
(packagekitd:2060): GLib-CRITICAL **: 19:09:04.345: Source ID 91 was not found when attempting to remove it

The bug has been fixed.

Anyway, does anyone working with packagekit? Because, I would like to know, how is the recommended way to blacklist with katja/slack?
