ok its installed but didn't get monitor right


Ok i got so I'm up to kde but stuck with a 600x420 desktop I think it is.My monitor is a dell e773c.Now where did I screw up to make it end up being small.Where do I fix it

You need to add your monitor's correct vertical and horizontal refresh rates to /etc/X11/xorg.conf, under the monitor section.

Or you can run /etc/X11/bin/xorgsetup as root, and it will prompt you for hte correct values.

Hmm I could be wrong but I don't think xorgsetup will prompt for those settings, just color depth as I recall.

xorgconfig will definately prompt for parameters.

If you have kde up, then it may be that you need to set your default video settings in kde. Try Control Centre -> Peripherals -> Display.

The default settings for X windows display are in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
The Monitor section sets uo your monitor.
The Display section sets up your graphics card and graphics mode. Note that the order of resolutions in the Display section is important. The first resolution (if valid) will be the resolution used.
The Screen section ties the Monitor and Display sections together.
