Thumbs up

I just love it when a client I haven't talked to for a few years calls me up to ask if I can talk to their *new* IT folks.

I know I posted elsewhere about this one particular case, but in a nutshell, these Wyndoze *point-n_clicker* GQ dudes came in, did a song and dance to my old client, and then when he pointed them to the dusty closet w/the Sun Enterprise Server and they couldn't find a mouse...

LOL!

Yeah, b-b-b-boneheads, was the term that came to mind.

Look. on my personal workstations I run all the candy I want, and much more than I need - because I can: SEE MY LAPTOP'S DESKTOP

When it comes to sysadmin work, however, most things are done via ssh anyway - so the question about a "pure cli" is a rather moot point, for me anyway.

hope that helps

when i get a bit nostalgic, i also have DosBox and xtrs80 to run DOS and CP/M apps... actually, i recently used DosBox to run a QBasic compiler to turn a DOS program i wrote years ago into a freeware release. i've also got a FreeDos install in VirtualBox. i really didn't realize how much DOS stuff was still floating around on the web. i might do some installs of older versions of linux too...

So, someone mentioned screen before?

How the heck do I get screen-vs working? I tried googling and it keeps giving me threads about "this screen vs that screen".
