no mouse w/q3a


got just about everything working with new install
but....

i have no mouse with q3, and
also a sound permissions issue, with the game.
sound works under root, but not any users.

Well, for your sound issues, try:

chmod 666 /dev/dsp*
chmod 666 /dev/mixer

This should let you have sound in non-root mode.

As for the mouse, I think there's something aboutit in the q3a readme file that comes up during installation... Something about dga mouse handling, or something. I think you can fix it in the config file for q3a (this is from memory, so don't quote me on it.)

fixed mouse problem. looks like i loaded 1.32pointrelease.
reinstalled with 1.32b-pointrelease

works fine !

I was just having the same problem after upgrading to RH9

I looked for the 1.32b release, installed it and everything is working now. Thanks for the tip!
