I use menueditor with icewm. Just built package and it is slower on slackware64 (pure install - no multi lib) than 32 bit slackware. By slower I mean when the application is started it takes several seconds to populate and display menu items in its window; cursor stays as a watch in this time. The SAME menu on the SAME machine is populated and displayed in a fraction of a second on slackware32 - I can not see the cursor as a watch.
This is my source for the package
http://repository.slacky.eu/slackwar...ueditor/1.3.2/
Here is my "uname -a" output:
Code:
Linux lost-sheep 2.6.37.6 #3 SMP Sat Apr 9 22:49:32 CDT 2011 x86_64 Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.20GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
I changed the configure line in the SlackBuild script file as follows:
Code:
# ./configure Linux -v --prefix=/usr --CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i486 -mtune=i686"
./configure Linux -v --prefix=/usr --CFLAGS="-O2 -fPIC -mtune=i686"
I am inclined to think it has something to do with the new X server, my slackware32 is version 13.1 with kernel 2.6.33.2-smp.
I appreciate any idea.
