md: can not import hdc1, has active inodes

I previously installed a software RAID 1 system using Slack 8.0 and had no problems. I decided to upgrade that system to Slack 8.1 with a fresh install. I'm having a problem doing a "raidhotadd" to mirror the boot partition /dev/hda1 on array /dev/md0 using an identical mirror partition /dev/hdc1. I could reconstruct the other partitions on arrays /dev/md1 through 5 but I suspect there is something different about this partition because it is the boot partition. If I try "raidhotadd /dev/md0 /dev/hda1" it says "/dev/md0: can not hot-add disk: disk busy!" This is fine because I know that in my /etc/raidtab, /dev/hda1 is raid-disk 0. If I do a "cat /proc/mdstat" I can confirm the /dev/hda1 is the active one. All this confirms that /dev/hda1 is active and that /dev/hdc1 is not. For this reason I cannot understand why I am getting the "active sockets" message in my syslog. I am using a raidtab and lilo.conf that worked on Slack 8.0 and the partition scheme has not changed on the new installation. Is there someone out there with experience with software RAID on Slack 8.0 and 8.1 that can help me? Should I boot from /dev/hda1 instead of /dev/md0 and then try to hot-add /dev/hdc1?

Answering my own question

Ok, I just booted from /dev/hda1 instead of /dev/md0 and the hot-add is commencing. Please ignore my request %-).
