[SOLVED] mate-terminal: prompt gone missing

After today's -current upgrade the prompt has gone missing from my mate terminal.
No error messages when starting mate-terminal from another terminal window (xfce terminal).
Rebuilt mate-terminal with the msb slackbuild script, but still no prompt.
All other mate applications and applets run fine.
Grateful for all suggestions how to solve this.

As expected, since xterm and xfce4-terminal run OK.

Today (cloudy) I discovered that the prompt is there after all, although dark grey and thus completely invisible in yesterday's sunshine. Checking the profile in mate-terminal. Colour was set to "Use color from system theme" which must have changed due to something - maybe the latest vte upgrade. Changed colour settings to "white on black" and all is well.
