Logitech Cordless Mini Optical Mouse issues


Hey guys I've been messing with this mouse and searching the forum for answers but I'm at a standstill. Can anyone help?

System is Slackware 10.2 w/ 2.4.31 kernel
Mouse is Logitech Cordless Mini Optical Mouse

Module hid is uncommented in rc.modules

No response at all from mouse

It turns out that pushing the "reset" button on the bottom of the mouse made it work. I did end up making a small change to the xorg.conf

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "WirelessMouse"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Dev Name" "Logitech USB RECEIVER"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "off"
Option "Buttons" "7"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7"
EndSection

The side to side scrolling still doesn't work. Does anyone have that working?
