Okay.. i followed the instructions to compile my first kernel.. it seemed to go perfect.. no problems at all and things seem to go smoother and faster... now wat? i just did the basics of the kernel compiling... are there anything more to do now? any options i have to make my kernel better and even faster? does this even make sense to u guys(or girls)?
If you just recompiled your kernel to suit your hardware and system needs.. I see nothing else for you to do.. start enjoying your OS and system with its new kernel.
hmm.. i am a little confused... i followed the steps to compiling my kernel... so that means that my new kernel is 'suited' for my system? and that is it?
Well, if you at least set your kernel options to i686 (or whatever yours is), then you are getting a much better kernel.
Whenever you compile something on your own computer, is automatically makes customizations, but if you didnt really go through the menuconfig and switch a few options, you may not be getting the best kerenl you could.
thats wat i mean.. i basically left menuconfig when i ran make menuconfig the exact same and just saved it... i dont really know wat those stuff mean... any help?
