i know i can find kernel RPM in 3rd CD,other than this,by default while install RH9,it will not copy kernel to system ?

did you have the kernel source installed?

try in a console:
rpm -qa |grep kernel

if your /usr/src folder doesn't contain a directory like: ./linux-2.4.20-8 you propably have no sources installed.

remember kernel and kernel-sources are not the same
