Konqueror web browser error-Slackware64 current
Hello,
First, I 'm running slackware64 current. I have kept up with all the change logs additions and packages rebuild /upgrade.
My problem occurred while upgrading to the current KDE 4.5.4 packages. When I try to use Konqueror web browser I receive this error:
There was an error loading the module About-Page for Konqueror.
The diagnostics is:
Cannot load library /usr/lib64/kde4/konq_aboutpage.so: (/usr/lib64/libkhtml.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZN6Phonon11VideoPlayer5eventEP6QEvent)
I have updated the phonon packages to the most current and still no joy. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
M

Hmmm... my 64-bit -current is working fine, and I have Konqueror open both as a file manager and a web browser at all times. I know a KDE guru who'll probably know the answer... let me get back to you.

Try to start Konqueror from a terminal. Sometimes the error message is a bit more clear about what is going on.

Konqueror error
Thank you mlangdn. It seems to open correctly when I use a terminal. The command I used is: kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing. It was the exact command from the menu editor. This is a bit strange.
It seems to be opening correctly from the command line and the quick link in the menu.
What could have been the problem?
Thanks all. I'll keep the thread open for a couple of days for more speculation.

Check in the menu editor (right-click on the Kmenu and select) and check out what launch command is being used.

Well, at least its functional now. Perhaps a KDE guru will come along in a while and totally solve this thing.
