Kernel upgrade, still no network

I'm pretty much at a loss how to proceed. I've upgraded my kernel to 2.6.5, but I just can't get network connectivity. I'm using an Intel D850GB motherboard and a Netgear FA310TX network card. Does anyone what network settings in the config I should use to get this to work?

ok well that card has been supported for as long as i can think back, so the
first thing i can think of is that you must not of enabled it in your kernel
configuration when you were recompiling ...
but then again unfortunetly there are two types of this same model...
one which has the :
DEC Tulip chip
should work like i charm if you did enable that in the config
and the other has the :
Netgear 82C169 PNIC chip
which should work (or may not right away), but not as well ...

now someone can correct me if i am wrong, but i am just browsing around
looking as i am not on my box right now, but i think the option you need
enabled is :
CONFIG_DEC_ELCP
to enable the support ...
