I'm running mostly Slackware 9 and Slackware current, and want to play around with lirc. Does anyone know if I need to recompile the kernel first? Or can I simply build it as a module against the sources?
I've got lirc running but I don't remember I needed to recompile the kernel. The only thing I needed to do was running the 'setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none' before starting lircd.
