It wont work on your box; more than likely. A kernel is built around your hardware, so finding one that's tweaked is going to be very hard to find. Just build one yourself.

If you want, I can provide the .config for my laptop, desktop, or server. I doubt they'd work for you, though...

For reference... Laptop is:
Athlon4 1.2GHz, 256MB RAM, VIA VT82C chipset/sound, S3 TwisterK video, RTL8139 and Prism2.5 LAN

Desktop is:
Athlon XP 2200+, 1024MB DDR366 RAM, VIA VT82C chipset w/ HiPoint HPT372+ ATA133 controller, SB Live! 24-bit sound, Radeon 9600 Ultra video, RTL8139 and Prism2.5 LAN

And the Server is:
Athlon64 3200+, 2048MB DDR400 RAM, NForce3 chipset, RTL8139 LAN.

As a previous poster said, however, it's doubtful that they'd work for your system, since there's a bunch of options that you need to tweak for your specific installation. Your best bet, really, is to check lspci and enable the right drivers for your system. People can help you figure that out if you need it.

http://xushi.co.uk/guides/kernel.php

while i'm at it

By 'working kernel to share', i assume you refer to the .config file, as the actual kernel.tar.bz2 is the same everywhere.

Mine works, but you'll just have to change the Processor type from centrino to whatever yours is, and probably change the chipsets too (network, graphics, northbridge.. etc)
