Kde4 compose stopped working after last current update (slack-13_64)
Hello guys!
I'm using the slack-13_64 current (and I'm loving it, as always), but after the last upgrade (01/25) the kde4 compose effects won't start anymore, even if I try to turn it on by alt+shit+F12.
First, you need to clarify which branch you are on. Slackware 13 and "-current" are 2 completely separate branches. If you choose to run -current, it's also an all-or-nothing deal. Grabbing the KDE/ directory and upgrading on a 13 installation will not work.
Nothing has yet changed with regards to graphics on -current; if you follow -current completely (which has bumped the kernels recently), ensure your drivers get rebuilt if you use nvidia's close source blob.
Are you trying to use opengl compositing or xrender compositing? If you are trying to use opengl, then you need to have 3D acceleration. If you aren't sure if 3D acceleration is working, show us the output of 'glxinfo'.
