Is there a fix for this error

Help with this? Here is output from var/log/messages.

Jul 10 07:38:16 Slack insmod: Warning: loading /lib/modules/2.4.26/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.o will taint the kernel: non-GPL license - NVIDIA
Jul 10 07:38:16 Slack insmod: See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information about tainted modules
Jul 10 07:38:16 Slack insmod: Module nvidia loaded, with warnings
Jul 10 07:55:59 Slack -- MARK --

Is there a fix? The system seems to run fine but?. This is a stock install of Slackware 10.0 with hotplug enabled, Nvidia 5336 Video driver, Nvidia nforce 0274 driver. Thats it nothing else has been added.

It's not an error, just a message. It's part of the Linux kernel. If a module isn't GPL, it's considered to "taint" the open source philosophy of the system. Have a look at that url if you want a bit more info.

Ok thanks brenton for the quick reply. I did look at the url before posting here and it did not make much sense to me. Now had another look "when it breaks you get to keep the pieces". That part does make sense? Oh well it work now so I'll just go on to the next thing. Thanks again.
