As su or root, type ldconfig. If you want to verify if libcdda_interface.so.0 is listed type "ldconfig -v | grep cdda". I just used cdda for short.

you don't have it installed then. sounds like either installed a duff rpm, or forced an installation and broke a dependency. install libcdda

Use xv in the -vo option. If that does not work type "mplayer -vo help" and post the output.
BTW, read the manual.

You run it like this:
mplayer (options) filen.mpg
Here are some useful commands for you:
Code:
mplayer -vo xv file.mpg
mplayer -vo help
mplayer -ao help
mplayer --help
man mplayer
mplayer -vo xv whatever.mpg means
mplayer, I want you to play whatever.mpg using the XV driver for (V)ideo (O)utput.
--Shade
for fun, try mplayer -vo aa whatever.mpg
