iPodder error

I just installed ipodder as the readme says, but when I try to run it I get the message "ImportError: Bad magic number in /opt/iPodder/ipodder/players.pyc"

Here is the total output:
Code:
aje@grey-machine:~/program/iPodder-linux$ iPodder
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "iPodderGui.py", line 38, in ?
    import iPodderWindows
  File "/opt/iPodder/iPodderWindows.py", line 6, in ?
    import gui.tree
  File "/opt/iPodder/gui/tree.py", line 16, in ?
    from ipodder import grabbers
  File "/opt/iPodder/ipodder/grabbers.py", line 56, in ?
    from configuration import __version__
  File "/opt/iPodder/ipodder/configuration.py", line 15, in ?
    import players
ImportError: Bad magic number in /opt/iPodder/ipodder/players.pyc
aje@grey-machine:~/program/iPodder-linux$
What could be the cause of this?

Now then,

What a merry ride that was....

It turns out that installing the new boot screens had uninstalled a number of the dependant programmes for iPodder.

I looked at the dependency list in the iPodder readme.txt and had to reinstall 3 of them again + 1 dependency.

Still no luck message was:

Code:
# iPodder
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "iPodderGui.py", line 38, in ?
    import iPodderWindows
  File "/opt/iPodder/iPodderWindows.py", line 6, in ?
    import gui.tree
  File "/opt/iPodder/gui/tree.py", line 16, in ?
    from ipodder import grabbers
  File "/opt/iPodder/ipodder/grabbers.py", line 56, in ?
    from configuration import __version__
  File "/opt/iPodder/ipodder/configuration.py", line 15, in ?
    import players
ImportError: Bad magic number in /opt/iPodder/ipodder/players.pyc

Then I re-installed iPodder and the message changed to:

Code:
# konqueror
konqueror: ERROR: Error in BrowserExtension::actionSlotMap(), unknown action : searchProvider
konqueror: WARNING: KGenericFactory: instance requested but no instance name passed to the constructor!
konqueror: ERROR: Error in BrowserExtension::actionSlotMap(), unknown action : searchProvider
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "iPodderGui.py", line 38, in ?
    import iPodderWindows
  File "/opt/iPodder/iPodderWindows.py", line 6, in ?
    import gui.tree
  File "/opt/iPodder/gui/tree.py", line 16, in ?
    from ipodder import grabbers
  File "/opt/iPodder/ipodder/grabbers.py", line 56, in ?
    from configuration import __version__
  File "/opt/iPodder/ipodder/configuration.py", line 15, in ?
    import players
  File "/opt/iPodder/ipodder/players.py", line 735, in ?
    import xmms.control
ImportError: No module named xmms.control

Now this xmms.control message was one I had whe I originally installed iPodder so I used rpmdrake and installed

pyxmms-2.02-2mdk

opened terminal and typed:

Code:
$iPodder
and all worked, just need to update menus and/or shortcuts to iPodder executable in /usr/bin
