add this to your /etc/fstab
Code:
/dev/sdc2 /mnt/ipod auto users,noauto,umask=000 0 0
also make the dir /mnt/ipod. your system might pick it up as something other than sdc2 so that might need to be changed but this is how i do it

Which desktop are you using? Konqueror has an ipod:/ protocol.

In Amarok setup -> Media Devices, do you have a drop down entry for "Apple iPod Media Device"?

Which version of Amarok do you have?

amarok isnt that high. but try vfat as the filesystem. also you dont have to be root to mount the ipod if you use my entry in fstab

well ive never used a nano, but it should still be a vfat. unless its ntfs but i doubt it and i think that ntfs write is still kind of shaky (dont quote me on that). are you 100% sure that you have the right /dev/?
