I have a Windows formatted iPod, and want a program that I can add songs to it. Also I would like to be able to play songs from it. Is it possible with Slackware 10.2? Not a big deal if its not, it would just be nice to do.
Seems you'll have to use multiple programs to make it work. gnupod is a bunch of perl scripts that actually do the business, but you may want something a bit more point and click. gtkpod seems to be the answer to that.
do a google search for ipod in kde and ipod in linux. There are several programs that pupport to act like itunes now for linux. In gnome there is rthymbox and 2 versions of gtkpod that allow playing from ipod. SLW 10.2 doesnt come with gnome but it can be added and thus give u gtkpod/rthymbox. Have fun.
google-ipod on linux kde will give u leads. Amarok 1.3 i believe will play music from ipod with gstreamer0.8-faad FAAC.
There is mention of SharpMusique @http://www.nano.crew.net/software/sharpmusique. There is mention of kpod project. Breezy Badger has progran for ipod. There are some entries in LQ also re ipod. Do a search. Again if gtkpod-aac can be setup with all the depencies it can work in kde. Maybe XFCE will run gtkpod and rthymbox. Good luck.
