Ok try adding this to the device section of xorg.conf:

Code:
Option "AccelMethod" "exa"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
This is according to:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...1/#post3618714

This is what I use for my i915 to prevent the distortions.

I tried this :
Code:
Option "AccelMethod" "exa"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
But it didn't work. In the screenshot just above the problem doesn't seem to be exactly the same.

Thanks for your answer anyway

nomodeset parameter passed to the kernel through lilo.conf definitely works.
But in this case, I still have to find out now how to go back to the maximum resolution (1024x600) this netbook can use instead of 800x600.

edit : I just read the CHANGES_AND_HINTS.TXT file again. There is a paragraph about KMS. It is said not to use nomodeset with intel chips...
