gaims probably the best, the rest are either too clunky to use or don't support ICQ v8 (server side contact lists). Elaborate on why you don't like Gaim, it's easily the best Linux IM program I've seen (in fact, it's the best IM program I've seen period, I even use it on Windows now. I even went to the trouble of removing MSN from my XP).
I'm just not used to the gaim interface. But this can be a matter of time...
Besides, there is this error when starting up: "bla MSN plugin failed to load bla"
I tried the solution on gaim faq

The MSN plugin won't load, but I have Mozilla NSS!
Some distributions, including Slackware, install Mozilla NSS to a non-standard directory. The fix is simple. Edit /etc/ld.so.conf and add /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4 (or whatever version you're using, but it's usually 1.4) to the file, and run ldconfig as root. Then re-run configure and recompile Gaim. You may also need to specify where the include file are for NSS and NSPR, see ./configure --help for the options.
Mozilla 1.5 has a broken .pc file and does not install the necessary .h files, and so will not be detected.
See these notes on getting ssl to work with gaim.
I cannot find mozilla-1.4 in /usr/lib/.
I have the firebird browser v.7

That's probably part of the problem. Firebird installs its libs into a different directory again (/usr/lib/MozillaFirebird). If Firebird has a similar NSS setup to Mozilla proper and it's based on whatever version is in Mozilla proper 1.4 then you *might* just be able to get away with just adding /usr/lib/MozillaFirebird instead of /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4 to /etc/ld.so.conf before running ldconfig and trying to install gaim. If your version of Firebird is based on Mozilla proper 1.5 (which I think the latest version 0.7 is) though then it'll most likely have the same problem and thus won't work. In this situation you could try installing the NSS manually yourself bit it's probably easier to just install Mozilla 1.4 proper and be done with it.
