Question I found drivers for my voodoo 4 video card but how do i install them?????????????

I was having lots of problems finding a video card on slackware 8.0 so I went and got some of the net to use however I don't know how to install them so if you could give me step by step instructions on how that would be great thanks alot

Could you please post what it is you have? Or where you got them or something? I think anybody would need to know something about what you are attempting to install before trying to help.

Most packages, applications, drivers, etc. available usually provide instructions. Have you looked in the file(s) that you retrieved?

Please, RTFM.

If you used the packages off the Slackware extras cd, it will install them in the proper place.

If you got the correct drivers from DRI, then the installation script will put that stuff in the right place. Go here for documentation:
The DRI should put the libGlide3.*.so in the proper place. But if not, you need to get it from their site, and put it in the '/usr/lib' directory.

In order to get X to work right you will need to go to the XFree86 site, and read this:

Go to these sites, read the documentation, try it yourself and then if you have problems, come back and post the problems.
