I have carefully red man,FAQ and so on, but I can't understand how does it work??? For example, i want to searh and install package whose name is 'prelink'. I type sudo slapt-get --search prelink and have the following error: "Couldn't open package_data. No such file or directory. May be you need --update option?"
What does it mean? What should i type?

I've only got two lines in my slapt-getrc, they are:
SOURCE=ftp://mirror.vbfx.com/slackware/slackware-10.2/
SOURCE=http://software.jaos.org/slackpacks/10.2/
If you want, you can add the linuxpackages repo as well. You can find a mirror source close to you by looking at /usr/doc/slapt-get-0.9.11b/example.slapt-getrc. All of the linuxpackage mirrors are listed so all you need to do is pick the one closest to you and add it to /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc.
Then do:
# slapt-get --update
# slapt-get --install
packagename
If nothing happens then that package isn't part of the slackware or linuxpackages mirror.
