How do I make my slackware automount like suse does?


Autofs is installed, but I'm not sure how to activite it. I'm not a linux

hmmm
slackware 10.2
kernel 2.6.13(stock)
kde 3.5.1

need more info?

did you read the "man" page??
post your /etc/fstab........

i use hotplug with custom scripts.

Autofs needs some files to work. This is how mine is set up -

/etc/auto.master:

Code:
/mnt/cd /etc/auto.cd
and /etc/auto.cd:

Code:
dvd     -fstype=iso9660,ro      :/dev/hdc
cd      -fstype=iso9660,ro      :/dev/hdd
This makes /mnt/cd/dvd and /mnt/cd/cd

You of course can make them mount to wherever you like. Also I believe I had to compile the kernel with autofs support although yours might already have it. (I downloaded mine from kernel.org)
