hda_intel doesn't have power_save file

So, I just installed Slackware on my laptop, I'm using laptop-mode-tools for power saving. However, for suspending the sound card theres supposed to be a file called power_save in the /sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters directory which is not present in Slackware. It worked fine on other distros like Arch and Ubuntu.I tried creating a file there but it didn't allow me. Is there a way I can get the power saving feature to work under Slackware

Thanks in advance

To get the power saving to work you have to recompile your kernel using CONFIG_SND_HDA_POWER_SAVE=y in your .config (you can set it using make menuconfig too: go to Device Drivers -> Sound card support -> Advanced Linux Sound Architecture -> PCI sound device -> Intel HD Audio and check Aggressive power-saving on HD-audio).
