Oh what a surprise. Reading that has given me the itch to install the earliest version of Slackware I can find, hopefully I have more luck this time, I remember getting some error or something before.

Danke, I'll have to install that too, it'll be interesting to see how things changed between 1.01 and 3.3.

No problem. I just found the link I was looking for, historic linux distributions. Of course, Slackware is there.
