Exclamation Getting GDM to start up BEFORE having to log in...

I have installed Gnome on my Slackware, and I am wondering on if its possible to get GDM to start before I have to log in, so that GDM kinda becomes the "default" login for me.

Kinda tired of having to write my login twice when I turn on my box.

I'm guessing your default runlevel is 3 ... ?

look for this line in /etc/inittab:
Code:
id:3:initdefault:
and change to:
Code:
id:5:initdefault:
cheers

Init 5 is unused in Slackware. This is the correct runlevel:

Code:
id:4:initdefault:
GDM is already the default in Slackware if it is present on the system.
