I speak just a little bit of Spanish, and can understand simple texts. Not enough for El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha, so I could only read it in French, alas.

About nada:
You installed almost nothing, thus you can do almost nothing. That seems pretty consistent

Please tell us which packages series you installed and/or attach to your next post the output of following command:
Code:
ls -1 /var/log/packages

How big is the partition you created for Slackware? A full install of Slackware is not "bloated". A bizarre misconception, and you see the results of being a too picky: you now have an almost non-working system due to missing libraries.

Also, I don't think you should run startx as root. I may be wrong, it happens sometimes.
P.S.

just type:
Code:
ls -1 /var/log/packages > packages.txt
then attach the file packages.txt to your next post.

PS the xinit error is caused by the lack of the package nettle (n series of packages) that you didn't install. If you wonder why this package is needed by X, remember that the X server can be used over a network.

And now this: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...8/#post5236368
Really? Since you are new to the system, install everything. After you are familiar enough with the system to know what you do and do not need, then do an expert's installation. By trying to do a customised installation without the necessary knowledge, you are in the process of creating a big mess for yourself.

Wrong. The fact that it doesn't give any output on screen just means it completed successfully.

Please figure out what it supposed to do. Tip: use "redirection" as search criteria on the internet.

Yes. The simplest is to just redo the installation, this time installing everything (but maybe the kdei series) as already suggested by Randicus Draco Albus, Richard Cranium and Alien Bob. You won't have to re-format your partitions this time, and if you know what you have not yet installed, just install that this time

Now a more general advice: to learn Linux, install one distribution and use only that one till you know the basic commands. Slackware is a good choice, and you have plenty of documentation available at http://docs.slackware.com, among other places.

Typo? 1 (one) instead of l (lower-case ell)???
gor0
Scrub it. Do a fresh install = FULL install.

No typo. We just need the files names, not all the fields displayed using -l.

PS You don't need to stay in front of your computer while it's downloading or installing.
