Pat is generally very quick to update Firefox, especially given Mozilla's removal.

So I would expect to see the next FF release being packaged in stable, current and then 11 depending on his timings.

The Firefox team admit that 1.5.0.3 was rushed out because a security vulnerability had gone public. Other known bug fixes were postponed to a 1.5.0.4, due soon. 1.5.0.3 seems to have got more stable since a couple of extensions were updated citing a bug in 1.5.0.3 API

Thank you for that information, which surely explains what was happening.

This is the first version of FF with which I have had the slightest problem. So the sooner the better with 1.5.0.4.

Really, I find it weird because I use the same extensions, same plugins, I visit the same sites, everything is the same as before, but I get crashes. The prime suspect is (naturally) the mplayerplug-in but in some of those cases that plugin wasn't used at all. Maybe I'm overlooking something, hmm... At least it's good to know that everything is OK for most people...
Check your Flash plugin. BAD JUJU. Never found a plugin for 1.5.0.x that DOESN'T lead to a crash.....

Now I don't have one installed at all, and no crashes. With flash: Boom!

yep I had a post about this a while back. quite simply firefox works better in windows for me than in ANY linux distro I tried. I've moved over to opera 9 beta. Not as many extensions plugins, but I like the forms control. Java actually works in opera for me (i have another thread about that) but not in firefox either. Flash kills me in firefox.

I've got Java installed and running on Slackware 10.2; I need Java to connect to my company's proprietary data base. I can run Java with Opera just fine on Slack, but, not with FF. Flash works fine with Opera and FF in Slackware for me.
